The Truth About Commission Sales with Semper Consulting

When people hear the words “commission sales,” reactions are often mixed. Some see opportunity and uncapped earning potential. Others think of instability, pressure, or uncertainty. At Semper Consulting, we believe most of that hesitation stems from a misunderstanding of how performance-based pay should be structured.

The reality is this: when done right, commission sales don’t limit your career; they accelerate it.

Our commission-based model at Semper Consulting is designed to reward performance, build leadership skills, and give driven professionals direct control over both their income and long-term career trajectory.

Let’s address the biggest misconceptions and explain how our system works.

Common Myths About Commission Sales

Myth #1: Commission sales are unstable.

Instability usually comes from weak systems, not the pay structure itself. Consistency comes from strong client demand, proven processes, and daily coaching.

Myth #2: Only “natural salespeople” succeed.

Sales is a learned skill. Most of our top performers started with no prior sales experience, but their coachability made all the difference. They committed to the training and focused on improving every day.

Myth #3: There’s no real career path in commission sales.

At Semper Consulting, commission is not the end goal; it is the starting point for leadership and management opportunities.

About the Semper Consulting Pay Structure

Our commission sales model is performance-based, transparent, and built to reward results.

As of December 2025, Semper Consulting generated $2.4 million in total sales revenue, with an average rep earning $275 per day. Earnings are driven by performance, consistency, and skill development, not tenure.

New team members receive structured onboarding, daily coaching, and clear performance expectations. As skills improve, production grows, and income follows.

Why Performance-Based Pay Builds Stronger Professionals

Commission-based roles at Semper Consulting develop more than sales ability. Team members build communication skills, discipline, and leadership habits. Instead of waiting for annual reviews or capped raises, growth happens in real time based on results.

Over time, this structure prepares high performers for leadership roles and long-term advancement within the company. For example, Alyra, an Assistant Manager with us, began by learning the fundamentals, applying coaching, and proving herself through consistent performance. Today, she is preparing to expand into a new market this quarter using the leadership experience she developed here.

Her path reflects what Semper Consulting is built to do: turn performance into opportunity.

Is This the Right Career Path for You?

The Semper Consulting Approach to Resilient Sales Strategies in Changing Markets

In a market defined by shifting customer expectations, economic fluctuations, and rapidly evolving technology, sales teams need more than traditional instruction; they need resilience, adaptability, and real-world experience. At Semper Consulting in Longwood, FL, this philosophy guides every part of our development model. Instead of relying on outdated lecture-style training, we embrace an interactive, hands-on system that empowers individuals to learn by doing and lead by example.

Why Traditional Training Falls Short in Today’s Markets

Many training programs teach concepts but fail to replicate the environments where sales professionals actually operate. Classroom-style learning may explain techniques, but it rarely prepares someone for the pace, pressure, or unpredictability of real customer interactions. As markets continue to shift, salespeople need more than theory; they need experiential training that strengthens confidence, communication, and critical thinking. This is where the Semper Consulting training program diverges.

A Hands-On Model Built for Real Growth

We’re known for our immersive, experiential learning approach centered on real-world sales scenarios. By prioritizing interactive training, field experience, mentorship, and skill application, we ensure every team member develops practical skills that withstand changing market conditions.

Whether learning how to adapt to customers, refine communication styles, or navigate objections, our employees benefit from real-time coaching from leaders who have succeeded in the field. This structure supports our company’s guiding philosophy: “Learn by doing, lead by example.”

Our environment at Semper Consulting is built around continual improvement. Instead of one-time training, team members receive ongoing coaching that reinforces new habits, sharpens decision-making, and builds resilience, a crucial trait in today’s competitive markets.

Mentorship That Accelerates Development

At the heart of our mentorship model is accessibility. Our leaders work closely with new team members, offering guidance, sharing personal experiences, and modeling the behaviors that drive sales success. Through shadowing, one-on-one coaching, and peer collaboration, individuals gain a clear understanding of how top performers think, react, and adapt.

This mentorship style also creates a supportive workplace culture, where everyone learns from one another, and growth becomes a shared goal.

What Employees Say About the Experience

Our team members consistently highlight how our company’s experiential learning has helped them build confidence and master new skills faster than expected. Many note that the interactive coaching sessions and field-based learning helped them quickly understand customer needs, develop resilience, and feel more prepared for real sales environments.

New hires frequently appreciate our hands-on structure, saying it equips them to overcome challenges, stay motivated, and advance into leadership roles.

Meet Mackenzie Topinka: The Heart Behind Semper Consulting’s Growth

At Semper Consulting, people are at the core of everything we do, and few embody that belief more fully than Mackenzie Topinka, our In-House Recruiter. With empathy, intention, and a deep commitment to people-first leadership, Mackenzie plays a pivotal role in shaping the team and culture that fuel our success.

Forming Confidence and Leadership from the Start

Born and raised in Apopka, Florida, Mackenzie’s journey has never followed a straight line, and that’s precisely what makes her impact so powerful. After high school, she attended cosmetology school, an experience that helped her build confidence, sharpen her communication skills, and recognize how well she thrives in people-focused environments. From there, she transitioned into hospitality, working her way from hostess to server, bartender, and, eventually, store and bar manager at a local establishment in DeLand, FL. Each role strengthened her leadership abilities, emotional intelligence, and understanding of how strong teams operate.

Finding Opportunity With Semper Consulting

Mackenzie joined Semper Consulting in August 2024 as an Entry-Level Sales Representative. It quickly became clear that while sales wasn’t the right long-term fit, her potential was undeniable. Rather than letting that talent walk away, our CEO, Tyler Lozier, offered Mackenzie the opportunity to step into recruiting, an offer that would change the trajectory of her career. That moment of trust and belief ignited a passion that Mackenzie says “clicked in a way no other role ever had.”

I’ve finally found a career that aligns with my strengths and a work environment that feels more like family than just a workplace.

Now, as Semper Consulting’s In-House Recruiter, Mackenzie is instrumental in building teams that align with the company’s values, goals, and culture. She brings a rare blend of organization and compassion to every interaction, ensuring candidates feel informed, respected, and genuinely supported throughout the hiring process. Her ability to read the room, listen deeply, and connect authentically helps us attract talent that not only performs, but also stays and grows.

Making Deeper Connections in Business

Mackenzie stands out for her empathy and people-centered approach. Rather than viewing recruiting as transactional, she is committed to guiding individuals in finding opportunities that positively impact their lives. That mindset shapes how she evaluates candidates, prioritizing ambition, adaptability, professionalism, and a strong “student mentality.” It also defines how she supports internal teams, fosters engagement, and promotes long-term retention through culture-driven hiring.

A Foundation Built on Care

Outside of work, Mackenzie’s most significant source of pride and motivation is her son, whom she proudly calls her greatest accomplishment. Being a parent has deepened her patience, perspective, and purpose; qualities she carries into her leadership style every day. As a planner by nature, she aims to achieve financial freedom, buy a home, and create meaningful experiences for her family, while continuing to grow in HR and talent acquisition over the long term.

Mackenzie’s growth at Semper Consulting reflects exactly what the company stands for: recognizing potential, investing in people, and creating space for individuals to thrive. As she continues to evolve in her role, one thing is clear: Semper Consulting’s future is stronger because Mackenzie is helping build it, one relationship at a time.

Tyler Lozier: A Story Built on Discipline, Development, and Purpose

Before entrepreneurship entered the picture, Tyler Lozier’s world revolved around competition and discipline. Born in West Texas and raised in Central Maryland, his childhood dream was far from business ownership. He wanted to play shortstop for the New York Yankees! While that goal eventually changed, the mindset behind it never did. The pursuit of excellence, commitment to preparation, and respect for teamwork became themes that would shape every chapter of his life.

Those values were reinforced after high school, when Tyler decided to join the United States Marine Corps. Serving for four years as an Amphibious Assault Crewman, he deployed in 2016 and traveled to ten different countries. The experience demanded mental toughness, accountability, and the ability to perform under pressure. Time away from family, limited communication, and exposure to challenging situations forced him to mature quickly and rely on the people beside him.

One lesson from his service continues to guide him today and would later become central to how he leads in business.

“Active duty [taught me] how to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It taught me that its not about the one man but the team and to take care of each other.”

From Service to Entrepreneurship

After leaving the Marines, Tyler entered the workforce with a strong work ethic and a clear understanding of structure and leadership. What drew him to sales was simple. It was merit-based, uncapped, and rewarded effort. He saw an opportunity to build a career where results mattered more than credentials and where growth was earned, not given.

That belief eventually led him to start Semper Consulting on April 1, 2024. Just twenty days later, his life changed again with the birth of his son. The timing reinforced his motivation and sense of responsibility. Building a successful business was no longer just about personal achievement. It was about providing for his family and setting an example.

In its first year, Semper Consulting operated a multimillion-dollar business, earned Tyler recognition as Rookie Owner of the Year, and promoted an individual from within to run their own operation. Each milestone reinforced his belief in development and opportunity-driven leadership.

Leadership Through Development and Accountability

At the core of Tyler’s leadership philosophy is a deep belief in people. He considers his greatest strength the ability to train and develop others, confident that success is teachable when paired with accountability and effort.

“I firmly believe I can train anyone at what I do and make them successful.”

That belief shapes Semper Consulting’s culture. Our organization values accountability, work ethic, coachability, and a student mentality. Tyler describes our environment as supportive and close-knit, while maintaining high expectations. In his words, our team operates like a family but is built to perform like a championship organization.

His leadership style adapts to the individual. Some team members need direct guidance, while others benefit from more time and mentorship. Regardless of the approach, the goal remains the same: helping people grow into stronger professionals and more confident individuals.

Lessons Learned and the Vision Ahead

Like any entrepreneur, Tyler has faced challenges. Learning how to motivate different personalities, navigating uncertainty, and managing the emotional highs and lows of ownership have all tested him. Rather than viewing setbacks as failures, he treats them as lessons. Adversity, in his view, is part of the process and a necessary tool for growth.

Looking ahead, Tyler remains focused on building a strong, sustainable organization! His short-term goals include continued promotions and surpassing previous performance records. In the long term, he envisions consulting for a large-scale organization while continuing to provide meaningful opportunities for others.

Success, for Tyler, is measured less by numbers and more by environment. When his office is filled with energy, music, and people who feel supported and driven, he knows he is doing something right. Through discipline, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to development, Tyler Lozier continues to build a story defined not just by results but by the lives impacted along the way.
